REMO Participates in the VI GODAE OceanView Science Team Meeting

The REMO, represented by Prof. Clemente A. S. Tanajura, participated in the VI GOADE OceanView Science Team Meeting in Sydney from November 2 to 6, 2015. The hosts of the meeting were the Bureau of Meteorology and CSIRO. The meeting took place at Q Station, Manly, north of Sydney. All forward-looking GODAE OceanView systems were present. This issue highlighted a discussion among researchers about the importance of 4D-Var and EnKF to improve the analyzes and forecasts and the planning of a new summer school in 2017 in Mallorca, Spain, to face the new challenges of operational oceanography . The need for quality free rounds has been emphasized so that assimilation can produce adequate increments. It was also informed that the guide being prepared on implementation of oceanic forecasting systems is in the final phase to follow for contributions and finalization in 2017 with joint action of JCOMM with OceaView GODAE .
