REMO participates in the GODAE OceanView Symposium 2013, based in Baltimore, USA

08-12-2013

Operational Oceanography aims to address numerous challenges with time scales varying from days to decades, ranging from coastal areas to the global ocean and applications ranging from offshore problems to coastal ecosystems. Such a forum represents a global issue that requires extensive collaboration. In this context, GODAE OceanView (GOV) is an international program that provides coordination and leadership for the consolidation and improvement of global and regional ocean analysis and forecasting systems and new capacity developments. The GODAE OceanView Symposium provided an opportunity to review important scientific advances of GOV in recent years, to critically examine the results obtained and to discuss the next steps for the future of ocean analysis and forecasting activities, as well as their international coordination. The REMO was part of this meeting and was represented by the coordinators Dr. Clemente AS Tanajura and Dr. Mauro Cirano of the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) and Dr. Afonso M. Paiva of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) Fabiola N. Amorim, Bch. David Mignac, MSc. Leandro N. Lima and MSc. Alessandro Aguiar from UFBA.
